Harrismith Municipality

The town of Harrismith falls under the greater Maluti-a-Phofung (MAP) municipality, and that is unfortunately the reason for the downfall of the Harrismith town infrastructure and road network. The town of Harrismith has 80% of the taxpayer base of the entire municipality, but the entire municipal budget that is not first stolen for personal use by the municipality management, is then spent only on the Qwa-qwa area, as that is where 80% of the municipality voter base is.

Luckily thanks to the continual efforts and financial costs of the Harrismith Business forum and a few Harrismith private businesses, the court process to officially split Harrismith into it’s own separate Harrismith & Intabazwe municipality, the town of Harrismith is set for a future of better infrastructure and service delivery.
